Foxtons selects Nokia Lumia 820 as business smartphone


Foxtons is a major real estate agency in the UK with 35 offices in London and with a turnover of 1400 real estate managed monthly. Foxtons chose to assign 900 employees to a Nokia Lumia 820, considering it suitable for the business. Another important achievement for Nokia, on several occasions in recent months has aimed to reach not only the consumer audience, but also corporate users.

Nokia to produce 4.7" inch smartphones, but no 5" smartphone in 2013


The race to achieve the smartphone with the larger display has long history in the Android World. And currently is holding  market leadership from this point of view with devices that are starting to use more and more 5" + displays. Nokia, according to recent rumors, could market it's first smartphone with 4.7 " display in 2013.

Nokia expands distribution and active pre-orders in Brazil for the Nokia Lumia 900 and Nokia 808 PureView



Another important element is added to the business strategy of the Finnish manufacturer, clearly committed to expanding distribution channels for its smartphones. Recently, Nokia has launched in Brazil pre-orders of the Nokia 900 Lumia ,the current top-of-the-line Lumia, and the Nokia 808 PureView, the device that has set standards unmatched by cameraphone competitors. The data must not be underestimated, especially if it is placed in relation to the overall strategy. Brazil is in fact, an emerging market that offers excellent prospects for development of the smartphone industry.

Rumor - Nokia will introduce two new WP 8 smartphones on September 5th



The rumors on the official presentation of next Lumia smartphone based on Windows Phone 8 are becoming more intense. The last rumor is that Nokia will show two new WP smartphones on September 5th.
While the reference to there latest release of Microsoft's operating system as standard is not at issue, the same can not be said for the integration of PureView technology that could be integrated within the Lumia devices probably later this this year with a reminder that the information should be considered mere rumor until is confirmed by Nokia.

Nokia completes acquisition of developers, technologies and intellectual property from Scalado



Nokia announced this morning that you have completed the acquisition of Scalado announced in June. The technology, intellectual property of major innovations in the imaging software and about fifty specialists who worked in this area will be transferred to Nokia Scalado. The Finnish manufacturer, then, having set new standards in the camera phone with the Nokia 808 PureView, may have significant resources to invest in the further improvement of the cameras of its smartphones.

Nokia publishes financial results for the 2nd quarter of 2012,with first signs of a turnaround and 4 million sold Lumia devices

As expected, this morning, Nokia has released the financial results of the 2nd quarter of 2012 and what we learn from the figures in the summary tables (see below) are the first signs of a turnaround , although the Finnish company is still at in a delicate and difficult period of transition.
The numbers and percentages than in the previous quarter appear to be more encouraging and demonstrate a greater hold of competitiveness in the mobile industry with the introduction of new feature phones family Asha Lumia and sale of devices with Windows Phone,which have been sold in 4 million units, a reasonable result considering that the new operating system is still young and not yet known by the great mass of consumers.

New software update 8779 in Navifirm available for Nokia Lumia 710 and Lumia 800

Nokia acquires Scalado to enhance its Lumia line of Windows Phones

Linus Torvalds - Nokia should have chosen Android

According to IDC Nokia has Shipped 2.2 Million Lumia Phones Last Quarter

Nokia Lumia 710 sighted in Canada with Windows Phone Tango on board


While the information on a possible upgrade to Windows Phone 8 for the current devices are scarce, it seems that Nokia has started pre-installing Windows Phone Tango on Lumia smartphones.
As was reported by WPCentral one of there tippers send his smartphone for repair, a Lumia 710 with Roger (Canada) and received replacement device with pre-installed WP7 OS Build 8773. The firmware is, as we know, the new version of Windows Phone, or Tango / Mango Refresh.
Is this a sign that the official Tango release is really very close?
