Android and iOS Capture a 92% Share of Global Smartphone Shipments in Q4 2012



According to Strategy Analytics, it seems that Google's Android and Apple's iOS , together, have covered in the fourth quarter of 2012, as many as 92% of the smartphone market, leaving really only the crumbs to competitors, such as from Microsoft and RIM, hoping that the new Windows Phone 8 and Blackberry 10 OS should turn the tide.

The race to achieve the smartphone with the larger display has long history in the Android World. Nokia publishes financial results for the 2nd quarter of 2012,with first signs of a turnaround and 4 million sold Lumia devices

As expected, this morning, Nokia has released the financial results of the 2nd quarter of 2012 and what we learn from the figures in the summary tables (see below) are the first signs of a turnaround , although the Finnish company is still at in a delicate and difficult period of transition.
The numbers and percentages than in the previous quarter appear to be more encouraging and demonstrate a greater hold of competitiveness in the mobile industry with the introduction of new feature phones family Asha Lumia and sale of devices with Windows Phone,which have been sold in 4 million units, a reasonable result considering that the new operating system is still young and not yet known by the great mass of consumers.

ComScore confirms the leadership of Android in USA

Analysts checks confirms that the Nokia Lumia 900 continues to sell well in U.S.



Officially presented during the first months of 2012 , the new smartphone Nokia Lumia 900 ,a member of the famous family of Smartphones created highly successful collaboration between Nokia and Microsoft , is available on the market in various countries around the world for some time now. 

The results recorded up to now have been positive for Nokia demonstrating the excellent reception received by this device evaluated positively by the international critics, but recently some items, at least for the American market, presaged some suffering resulting drop in sales of smartphones due to the launch of the HTC One X.

Nokia Lumia 710 sighted in Canada with Windows Phone Tango on board


While the information on a possible upgrade to Windows Phone 8 for the current devices are scarce, it seems that Nokia has started pre-installing Windows Phone Tango on Lumia smartphones.
As was reported by WPCentral one of there tippers send his smartphone for repair, a Lumia 710 with Roger (Canada) and received replacement device with pre-installed WP7 OS Build 8773. The firmware is, as we know, the new version of Windows Phone, or Tango / Mango Refresh.
Is this a sign that the official Tango release is really very close?

Intel may make x86 chips for Windows Phone, but only if the platform will grow!



From the statements of Hermann Eul, president of Intel Mobile Communications Group, released during an interview with IDG News Service during the Computex 2012, we learn that Intel would be interested in making x86 chips to support Windows Phone platform.

Nokia shows again the Nokia Lumia 900 Magenta on Facebook

Survey - Windows Phone is the third platform chosen by the game developers with 8.8%


The Game Developer Magazine has published the results of its latest survey for the developers of games on different mobile platforms.



From the findings it is clear that the developers of games for mobile devices are more focused on the Apple platform with 94.6%, to follow with 70.7% of developers are dedicated to the Google platform and in the third position with 8, 8% of the developers interested in the Microsoft platform.

A screenshot of WPBench , the well-known benchmark dedicated to all Windows Phone, might have revealed the code name of the alleged first Nokia smartphone based on Windows Phone 8 . The following information must obviously be considered within the assumptions based on the analysis of the screenshot that in addition to the name of the device, also shows the version number of the OS, far enough from the current so as to be deemed a the first test release of Windows Phone 8.
