Nokia completes acquisition of developers, technologies and intellectual property from Scalado



Nokia announced this morning that you have completed the acquisition of Scalado announced in June. The technology, intellectual property of major innovations in the imaging software and about fifty specialists who worked in this area will be transferred to Nokia Scalado. The Finnish manufacturer, then, having set new standards in the camera phone with the Nokia 808 PureView, may have significant resources to invest in the further improvement of the cameras of its smartphones.

Jo Harlow , Executive Vice President of Nokia Smart Device Division has commented on the completion of the acquisition: 
We believe this acquisition will strengthen Nokia's position as a leader of mobile imaging, and we offer a great opportunity to create applications and imaging products even better
Following the acquisition of Scalado headquartered in Sweden, Lund became one of the most important centers dedicated to the development of imaging software from Nokia together with those of Espoo and Tampere in Finland.
Are not yet known news that could be integrated into the software in the future of Nokia Lumia cameraphone, but the Finnish manufacturer without going into details, identifies two paths on which to articulate the evolution of imaging software.The first concerns the possibility of enriching the content of photos with contextual data, the second pass for software solutions that give the effect of non-destructive editing tools to enhance the details of the picture is not so evident during shooting.
