Symbian OS posts 2.8 % growth from Feb to March 2012 according to StatCounter

Despite the choice of Nokia Symbian to award to play second fiddle to the Windows Phone platform, operating system continues to show that they are in good shape. To reveal the growth data is the latest StatCounter , an analysis tool considered sufficiently reliable.
Based on the latest information in February and March, the Symbian platform, worldwide , would not only be able to maintain its existing market share, but would have recorded a growth of almost 2.8%, from 30.19% to 31.01% .Looking at the graph shown at the opening of StatCounter you can also note two other interesting data: the first relates to the reversal of the trend negeativo that had characterized the last months: Symbian to gain back market share, after having gradually lost in recent months. The second finding is related to the fact that in the same period were the other platforms as IOS and Android to lose ground.

Nokia is still leading in the amount of data traffic from mobile devices

StatCounter is always a useful resource for understanding the evolution of data traffic in the global mobile industry and the latest stats are very interesting.
So with the end of the first month of 2012, the famous analyst firm reported that from January 2011 to January 2012, the web traffic on mobile devices has grown again, seeing more and leader Nokia phones connected globally.
These are the words of Aodhan Cullen, CEO of StatCounter:
"Despite the use of the Internet through mobile phones and Smartphones are still less than 10%, the pace of growth is remarkable."
Apple dominates in the United Kingdom and the United States, but Nokia is behind in many markets. Nevertheless, countries where the overall Web browsing is made of 40% from mobile devices such as India, where Nokia was able to dominate sales, enabling the Finnish giant still be a leader in the field of mobile data traffic.

Symbian still the top mobile OS for 2011 says Stat Counter?

Some details from Statcounter shows Symbian to still be the top mobile OS in 2011 as reported by webpronews.

According to their stats, Symbian started at 30% at the beginning of the year, but it rocketed to 33.58% in June. This dipped in October to 29% but went back up to 33.63%.

We are not sure precisely what these are percentages of, we are guessing total users as opposed to sales.Nokia’s had a major change of strategy away from a Symbian focus, and also had a pretty poor portfolio compared to the competition – with both of those going against it, it is indeed remarkable to be as strong as statcounter suggests.
