Google Play app revenue up 311%, but but the Apple store still dominates

During this 2012, the Google Play store has seen record numbers, thanks to the many new applications that provide media content better quality. After that Amazon has seen the Kindle Fire last year, a large increase of their revenues by selling content via Tablet, Google seems to have found the right formula. Nexus 7 is definitely the protagonist since the new Nexus 4 smartphone and Nexus 10 tablet came on the market long enough to be able to make significant numbers.
Just diffusion of the first Google tablet created with Asus, the very low price and the presence of important references to store apps, music and books, for the lucky ones, movies and magazines, has brought the Play Store to generate revenue of more than 300% higher than the same period last year.

As usual, Japan is the leader with about 90% of Android in the smartphone market penetration and a country where Google OS is seen perfectly well thanks to the very good prices of products sold. The number of downloads has increased by almost 50% year on year and undoubtedly the opening of new channels Play Store in many European markets in recent weeks will not only benefit in ecosystem level downloads and revenues.
Apple is still far regarding the income generated from its platform, but there is no doubt that Android will continue to be successful and many developers are finding, as well as some problems of fragmentation, important economic satisfactions.
