Huawei has recently made public the plans for selling the smartphone market to be achieved during the year. Important goals after the warm welcome of the Mobile World Congress 2012 with the hope to reach 60 million devices which the company says will be shipped by the end of the year, focusing mainly on high-end market.
Richard Yu said at a press conference that the industry mobile device is about to undergo huge changes that will lead to survival of only three or four producers and Huawei will be among these. At the time Apple holds 70% of the profits of the sector, while Samsung is holding the remaining 20%, leaving little room for others, and it is here that the Chinese manufacturer will play his cards focusing on quality as number one priority and the strengthening of the brand throughout the world.
The President of Huawei, however, dodging the question whether there could be enough space for two Chinese manufacturers of phones like the current situation shows, Huawei and ZTE, reaffirming that the quality of products to determine the winner.
"Within a year we hope to become a company of 100 billion dollars ..."
For 2012, the company relies on recently introduced products such as Huawei Ascend D Quad and XL focusing on an aggressive price and on a hardware platform that the initial tests look promising.
