Firmware update PR 1.1 now live in the U.S. and Canada, the rest will have to wait till February 2013!

Nokia has officially announced the start of the deployment of PR 1.1 for the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820. This is an update that was already spotted at NaviFirm and that has begun to roll out the update for the Nokia Windows Phone 8 smartphones.

The availability of this update is limited to models sold by AT & T in the U.S. and Rogers in Canada . All others countries must unfortunately wait for February 2013 to get the update.
Nokia refers to the following changes that will cover both the Nokia Lumia 920, and the Lumia 820:
  • Enhancements in Messaging
  • More efficient and reliable Bluetooth connectivity
  • More efficient and reliable start-up sequence
  • Enhancements in imaging performance and battery management
  • Additional platform updates and enhancements

Nokia reassuring in this regard that the update will be released in other markets with the help of the telephone operators and Microsoft. However, unfortunately, is postponed to 2013 and Nokia expressly refers in early February :
"Together with Microsoft we plan to start distributing these updates in other markets in early February 2013"
